Ask About EMDR Consultation
Have a case you’re turning over, a question about pacing or preparation, or certification goals you’d like to discuss? Tell me a little about your training and what you’d like help thinking through.
Â
Individual EMDR consultation is $100 for 60 minutes. This service is for clinicians who have completed EMDR basic training.
Â
Use Tall Grass Therapy’s Paubox form for your initial inquiry. It opens separately from this website. Please leave out identifying client information.
Before You Reach Out
What happens after I inquire?
We’ll clarify your goals and whether my consultation scope fits what you need. Before beginning, we’ll agree on the purpose of consultation, learning goals, a written consultation agreement, a schedule and applicable documentation.
What should I include, and what should I bring later?
A few sentences are enough for the first inquiry. Include your name and professional role, EMDR basic-training provider and completion status, and a brief description of your consultation goals. Please leave out identifying client information. You do not need to send case records or recordings.
Â
For consultation, bring a focused question and relevant de-identified case information. We’ll agree on any recordings, necessary consent and secure handling before using them.
Can these sessions count toward certification?
Eligible hours may count within a structured certification-consultation relationship established in advance. This is a consultation-hour summary, not a complete certification checklist:
Â
-
20 total consultation hours are required, including at least 10 individual hours
-
Up to 15 hours may come from a CIT; at least 5 must come from an EMDRIA Approved Consultantâ„¢
-
An EMDRIA Approved Consultantâ„¢ recommendation is required
-
Eligible hours begin after completion of the entire EMDR basic-training program
-
The 20 qualifying consultation hours must be completed within the five years before applying
Â
We’ll clarify the documentation I can provide. Hours do not guarantee a recommendation or certification; EMDRIA makes the certification decision.
Â
What if I only want occasional consultation?
Occasional sessions may be part of certification consultation if we establish that purpose in advance and meet the applicable requirements. An occasional schedule does not by itself determine eligibility. Case consultation arranged without a credentialing purpose does not count toward an EMDRIA credential.
What if I am still completing basic training?
Contact your training provider about its required consultation. The service offered here should not be assumed to fulfill that requirement.
Is this supervision or consultation for other CITs?
You retain responsibility for your clinical decisions and client care. This service is not therapy or required clinical supervision. I do not provide consultation-of-consultation hours for other CITs.
